Improver 2: I can stand and adjust the speed of the board and change direction in the white water and take off on small unbroken waves. ( Bronze L3)
Improver 3: I can Paddle out and catch unbroken waves taking off on right and left hand waves riding down the line under control. (Silver L1)
Intermediate 1: I can Paddle out and catch unbroken waves taking off right and left and performing basic turns on the face of the wave.(Silver L2)
Intermediate 2: I can do all the above and basic cut backs. (Silver L3)
Intermediate 3: I can do all the above and am linking turns and manoeuvres. (Gold)
Expert: I can do all the above and am linking radical turns and manoeuvres in the critical section of the wave.
Group or 1 to 1? This is a question we regularly get asked. While the benefits of tuition 1 to 1 lessons are undisputable through experience we often see people progress well with a small private group dynamic. Certainly when it comes to taking a beginner course it's easier to gauge success and to set personal goals when you are encouraging each other, sharing the learning experience and the pleasure of riding waves together.
Over the year we run both regular and specialised courses, some in collaboration with experts from related fields. We run our carefully structured module based courses from May until November. The course is designed to be worked through in the time you have available. Some people like to complete it by taking weekly lessons whilst others who have to travel further to get here prefer to progress with 3 and 5 day courses. In both cases the same content is covered over time.
